Believeing is seeing. A place for your business and yourself to grow!

  • Feb 17

You worked for a company for 1 to 20 years and now they are shutting down or downsizing their workforce. Your job is eliminated to save the company money and others from losing their job. You feel hurt, lack of loyalty, under appreciated, frustrated that you put so much time and effort into the job. You are looking to work from home. Who do you trust in the network marketing industry?

Going to take your money and run Yes some, keep looking

Leave you alone to figure it out Find a biz that stays with you

Bother friends and family There are ways to market

Work hard Yes you will work hard

Companies have lost their loyalty to employees, which has made employees not trust companies. Coming home to work allows you to work as hard as you want for as much as you want and to work with people you love. We have gotten into a cycle of working for others, doing what they say and they give us money. We started out by pursuing dreams to create income for our family. We were generating our own income and resources. I feel we are coming around full circle as a civilization to take control of our lives again.  We are taking charge of our bucket list.

We have all watched companies go out of business and friends lose their jobs. My mother’s job was eliminated right before thanksgiving. Fortunately for me, there is no lack of jobs for Veterinary Technicians. The problem is lack of pay rate. I have been working in the network marketing industry for nearly 4 years now. It is the only profession that makes sense to me, now.

Your job has been eliminated, companies are not hiring, you are part of the unemployment and where do you go from here? I understand how you feel. I was job hunting in summer of 07. It took me 4 months to find a job and thank goodness for my residual income. My mom’s job was eliminated right before thanksgiving 08. She worked for them for 20 years and lost a sense of identity with the job loss. What are your options?

Be willing to grow as a person. Change is not easy and as they say when one door closes another one opens. We have to be willing to see and open the new door. So find an interest through reading books and interest that makes you feel like a kid again. Some books I have read to guide me are as follows.

Stand Like Mountain, Flow Like Water By Brian Luke Seaword

Simple Abundance By Sarah Ban Breathnach

The People Code By Taylor Hartman

Color Your Future By Taylor Hartman

Toa of Equus By Linda Kohanov

I loved the Toa of Equus because I love horses. See how this works. If you love golf then look for a book that relates to golf and self-growth.  In the corporate world there is usually training to help you grow and the same goes for self employment.

Get involved in local networking events. My area has a local networking group that is just for the unemployed. It is a great place to figure out where to go next. There are a variety of people looking for jobs and one of them may know someone to help you. The added benefit is it gets you out of the house meeting people. It is important to form a schedule just like when you had a job. Now you get to do what you want. This may lead you to explore working from home.

Meet people you want to aspire too or that you value. Give them a call or email them to learn from their experiences. If you find a mentor in the process that is even better!

A great place to meet people is in seminars. You can find them in various places for free. Look in magazine of interest to you, on bulletin boards, and newspaper. For example, I’m interested in natural healing so I pick up local healing magazines and attend free 1 hour or so seminars to broaden my knowledge and meet people.

As you get out there and network with people you are sharpening your skills while finding your interest. You meet other entrepreneurs working from home to aid in your research. I am always willing to help and feel free to contact me at the university.
